Samuel L. Jackson: My character needs knives
Samuel L Jackson wants the Nick Fury spin-off movie to feature Scarlett Johansson and "guns and knives".
The actor is reprising his role as S.H.I.E.L.D agent Nick Fury for the new movie Avengers Assemble. Samuel has previously played the character in films such as Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America and is thrilled to be finally getting a movie focusing on Nick.
He would love to see Scarlett play her mysterious Marvel character in the film and is eager to brandish some weapons too.
"Probably would be me and Black Widow because Scarlett and I don't have powers," he told Access Hollywood. "But we're kind of from the same world. Shadow world of spies and, you know, guns and knives!"
Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D, is currently being developed by Marvel. A release date is yet to have been confirmed.
Samuel accepts that the plotline can't be too outrageous because his superspy character doesn't possess superhero qualities.
"Nick Fury has no power so it's gotta be something cool, kind of undercover," he explained.
Samuel is currently promoting Avengers Assemble, which also stars Scarlett, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Tom Hiddleston and Jeremy Renner.
In the movie, Nick and the international agency S.H.I.E.L.D. enlist the help of superheroes to protect Earth from the villainous Loki.
