Sarah Silverman gave a touching tribute to her mother Beth Ann O’Hara, who passed away last week.

The 44-year-old comedienne-and-actress was very close to her mum, who died at the age of 73.

And Sarah provided a touching tribute to the matriarch via Twitter on Monday.

"Wednesday morning my mom died (sic),” she wrote in a caption alongside a throwback photo of Beth. “Wednesday morning my mom died. She was a know-it-all in overalls & two different colored socks. And defiantly, no bra.

"The woman who, when I was little, gave me detailed directions to a restaurant ladies room then secretly watched as I found my way to it on my own. The woman who went back to college at 42, and skinny dipped in ponds, and told me never to protect myself from a broken heart because it was so very worth the pain to get to experience love."

Beth was quite the entertainer herself, as she produced and directed over 50 plays in 25 years.

Sarah’s mother was the recipient of the lifetime achievement award at the New Hampshire Theater Awards in 2003.

According to New Hampshire Public Radio, Sarah gave a glowing introduction as she presented the lifetime achievement award to her mother a dozen years ago.

"She gives us the feeling that we fill her heart with love and I think it's because we fill her heart with love. Mom ... we feel the same. you fill our hearts, as well,” Sarah gushed at the ceremony.
