ScarJo: People would marry me for muffins

Scarlett Johansson loves nothing more than to bake her signature vegan banana chocolate chip muffins.

The 29-year-old actress, who is rumoured to be expecting her first child with her fiancé Romain Dauriac, is a keen baker. Recently she has been following a vegan diet to get into shape for her role as Black Widow in upcoming feature The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

To curb her sweet cravings Scarlett enjoys whipping up one treat in particular,

“I don’t believe in the whole raw egg thing. Licking the spoon is the best part. Sometimes the mix will barely make it to the oven,” she smiled to British newspaper the Metro.

“My signature baked good is a vegan banana chocolate chip muffin - I can modestly say I have had marriage proposals from those.”

Scarlett recently filmed in Scotland for her thriller flick Under the Skin. While visiting she was open to trying local delicacies, but missed out on a deep-fried version of a chocolate Mars Bar.

“You know, I didn’t find one, but I did try [Scottish soft drink] Irn-Bru,” she laughed when asked if she had any cravings for the fatty food. “I just don’t think I’m Scottish enough for Irn-Bru.”

The blonde star spends the majority of Under the Skin in her underwear to capture the essence of her alien seductress character Laura. While she had hang-ups about being exposed, Scarlett feels her curves are more natural than having a muscular physique.

“Of course, like any woman, I was thinking, ‘Oh God, there are going to be a million screen shots of this.’ But it would be kind of distracting if I took off my shirt and I had, like, an eight-pack – not that I would ever have one!” she mused.

“The character should look available and womanly – a little bit exotic, yes, but like she could fit in. It’s not like she’s some superhero, you know?”

Despite being in the spotlight since she was 14 thanks to her debut film North, Scarlett is determined to remain grounded. She tries not to let fame affect her everyday life.

“In a lot of ways I am exactly the same as I was when I was 12. I try to live as normal a life as I can,” she explained.

“I live in New York and that allows for me to have everyday encounters with people in life that I might not have if I lived in a big LA mansion on a hill."
