Scherzinger 'struggling with single status'

Nicole Scherzinger is struggling to cope with being single because she doesn't have many friends.

The 35-year-old singer is recently single following her split from Formula One star Lewis Hamilton, who she'd been with on-and-off for five years.

The star has admitted her romantic status is hard to get used to and she's struggling with the new way of life. She is currently a judge on the UK X Factor and doesn't know many people in Britain.

"I don’t have anyone here, I don’t have my family, I don’t even have any friends here. My publicist is my closest friend. It gets lonely but I’m working all the time," she is quoted as saying by British newspaper The Sun.

"I don’t know what I would do - I just don’t take days off. I have to be working so I’m grateful for that.

“If I’m not doing X Factor I put myself in the studio. I also love good food, so I’m getting to explore lots of different restaurants here.

“I take my publicist and my assistant as my dates, literally."

Nicole has decided to make some changes to help her feel more settled. Rather than living in a hotel while shooting the talent programme, she has vowed to find a proper home.

"I’m going apartment-hunting soon. I want to get a proper place,” she explained. “Last time I had an apartment in a hotel and I want to get a place with windows.”

Nicole was a full-time judge on the series last season too and thought twice about returning. While she loves finding her artists, her singing career always comes first. The star began to fear her music wasn't up to scratch but is hopeful she can turn that around.

"I’ve got to get the music right. I’m an artist and I haven’t felt confident enough with the stuff I’m doing," she explained. "I haven’t felt like I’ve got enough of a cohesive album that I’m proud of to put out."
