Schwarzenegger 'lands Super Bowl deal'
Arnold Schwarzenegger will star in a Super Bowl commercial for Bud Light, according to reports.
The former California governor has reportedly agreed to star in a humorous Bud Light beer commerical, despite his personal focus on health and fitness.
Stars can earn big money for Super Bowl spots and the Terminator star is no exception.
"Arnold has shot a series of ads in Japan [a trick used by celebs who want to cash in but without looking greedy at home] but pretty much hasn't done anything in the US. Persuading him to promote a beer is a big coup for Bud Light," a source explained to Page Six.
The publication has contacted Arnold's spokesperson and reps but neither has so far responded to the reports.
The Super Bowl is the annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL) and the highest level of professional American football.
Arnold is the newest name in a long list of celebrities to feature in this year's Super Bowl ads, including Laurence Fishburne, Scarlett Johansson, David Beckham and Sir Ben Kingsley.
Scarlett has reportedly signed up to star in a SodaStream commercial during the big game while Laurence is set to reprise his iconic role of Morpheus from the hit Matrix film series in an ad for Kia Motor’s new K900 luxury sedan.
After his stint as California governor came to an end in 2011, the Arnold made a return to acting.
He will next be seen in the third instalment of The Expendables alongside fellow iconic action stars Sylvester Stallone, Mel Gibson and Harrison Ford.
