Scott Disick slams money misconceptions

Scott Disick's life has only been made unhappy by money.

Reality TV star Scott Disick insists money has never made him happy, which is why he's now more focused on calming down.

The 32-year-old star split from his partner of nine years, Kourtney Kardashian, last summer (15), with his love of wild partying said to be one of the reasons. The former couple have three children together and their highs and lows have been played out on the family's reality TV show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, but Scott insists much of what's been seen of him isn't the truth.

"At the end of the day people say focus on work, make more money. I have money," he said on Kourtney's sister Khloe's new talk show, Kocktails with Khloe. "The more money I have, the less happy I am.

"So the only thing I'm trying to focus on is just calming down, and just focusing on the kids, and just trying to be a good dad.”

Scott has spent time in rehab for addiction issues, and he was photographed cavorting with women around the time of his split from Kourtney. He insists he's misunderstood though, claiming he has no interest in being a celebrity or leading his life in the public eye.

"A lot of people think that (I) only care about money and cars, and don't realise it's more just about insecurities, and how much I care about my friends and my family,” he explained

"I really would rather never be in a tabloid again, but if I'm gonna be, I'd rather it be about, 'This guy isn't who everybody thinks he is.'”

This isn't the first time the star has shown another side to his personality. On Keeping Up with the Kardashians he admitted his kids are the only reason he didn't commit suicide after his split from Kourtney.

"I've never been this unhappy in my life, you know," he said. "It's just terrible. If I didn't have those kids, I would kill myself. But I have them and I'm going to be here and I'm going to make it right for them. I just hope that somehow… God can like, give me a chance or us a chance at this. It's weird to lose that many people that quick, you know."

Kourtney, Khloe and their other sisters Kim, Kendall and Kylie have given a group interview to Cosmopolitan magazine in which they each discuss the biggest misconceptions about each other. Khloe hit out at people who claim Kim is vain, insisting her older sibling has no ego.

"It is frustrating that anyone would think Kim is self-centered. She has the biggest heart and wants to uplift everyone," Khloe said. "Just because someone takes a selfie – which the whole world does – doesn’t mean she should be labelled as egotistical. You can take a f**king selfie! That doesn’t define where your heart is."
