Scott Eastwood: Name is no help

Scott Eastwood believes he bags roles because he knows how to "handle himself as a man".

He is the son of Hollywood star Clint Eastwood and is following in his father's footsteps as an actor.

Earlier in his career he used his mother Jacelyn Reeves' maiden name and he's adamant being related to Clint doesn't automatically score him parts in big films.

“Everyone wanted to represent Scott Eastwood, right? That’s the cheapest game in the book. I wanted to be an actor for me and to see if I could do it,” he explained to Access Hollywood when asked why he originally used the name Reeves.

“Sure, I’ve had doors open for me... But if you walk into an audition room and you can’t deliver… no one’s gonna hire you for the job.”

Up until 2009, Scott was credited with his mother's name in films such as You Got Served and Crime.

Now he's built up a high-profile career and is filming Fury alongside Brad Pitt.

The star admits he's been lucky with the kind of life he's been exposed to.

“You gotta take the good with the bad. I’m gonna look at the glass half full and say that I’ve had a lot of great opportunities in my life because of my father and because of the way I was raised and the environment I was raised in,” he acknowledged.

“But it’s how you handle yourself as a man. That’s what it comes down to in this world. You know? How you handle yourself on a job, whether you’re a plumber or a carpenter, whatever you do, it’s how you handle yourself.”
