Scott Eastwood: What Clint taught me
Scott Eastwood cried when he first watched The Notebook.
The 28-year-old actor is lucky enough to have followed his famous father’s footsteps into the movie making world.
Clint is regarded as one of Hollywood’s top talents, and alongside his successful acting career he is also a highly-respected director, bagging four Oscars in total for his work.
“Pay attention. Listen. It's more advice about life [than work],” Scott mused to People magazine when asked what his dad has taught him.
“Just always try to better yourself as a human being, never get too comfortable, and invest back in yourself. My father is a pilot, and I grew up flying with him, so I'm getting my helicopter pilot's license. I'm taking Spanish classes. You only live one life, so you might as well live a really good one.”
Scott can next be seen in Nicholas Sparks' new film, The Longest Ride, where he plays Luke Collins.
Novelist Nicholas is the man behind romantic smash hits The Notebook and Dear John, so saying yes was a no brainer for Scott.
“To be honest, I never read any of his books, but I did watch The Notebook, and I did cry my eyes out. If the material is good, I'll do it.
“He [Luke] wasn't just a guy falling in love with this broad. He's a bull rider, and I grew up going to the Salinas rodeo, so that was cool. I really connected to him. He has a little more grit,” Scott smiled. For the role Scott had to learn to ride a bull, and will no doubt impress his female fans with his new-found skills.
However, the handsome actor doesn’t think of himself as a sex symbol.
“I don't know what that means. That's silly. People make a big deal about it, but I'm just happy to be working. Some say [my success] has been overnight, but I've been working for 12 years as an actor,” he said.
