Selena Gomez 'embarrassed by attention'

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez can't stand all of the media attention focused on her and Justin Bieber's relationship.

The pair reportedly split, but they have been seen out together in Los Angeles in recent weeks.

Selena and Justin dined out together at Yamato Japanese restaurant in the San Fernando Valley on Friday, but left abruptly in separate cars.

In contrast to speculation, the couple didn't have an argument.

"There was no blow up. Selena is just super embarrassed by all of this attention surrounding their relationship and she got upset when they sat down and people were staring and pulling out their cell phones," a source told Radar Online.

"She was uncomfortable and wanted out of there, and that's why they left almost immediately."

Selena wasn't by Justin's side at the American Music Awards on Sunday.

She didn't want to face the cameras.

"Selena didn't go to the AMAs because she hadn't been feeling well and she knew all eyes would be on their relationship," the source said.

"She wanted the focus to be Justin's accomplishments. She went to the after-parties to show her support, but still felt bad, which is why she ended up in the hospital with a throat infection."
