Selena Gomez 'got Swift and Styles together'

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez apparently "takes credit" for Taylor Swift and Harry Styles' supposed romance.

Taylor and the One Direction hunk enjoyed a brief relationship in March and are now said to be back together, following Taylor's split from Conor Kennedy.

Selena has seemingly claimed she is the one who encouraged her country singer friend to rekindle the flame.

"I take credit for getting them together," she apparently told British magazine Closer.

"With Taylor, I was like, 'Come on, this is 2012, you have not got to wait for him to ask you - why don't you invite him out for dinner?' It looks like my advice worked!"

Selena has been going through her own relationship dramas recently, with reports emerging earlier this month she and singer boyfriend Justin Bieber had broken up.

The couple are thought to have called it quits after the 18-year-old heartthrob was spotted flirting with models at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. However, they have been seen together in recent weeks.

Luckily Taylor also seems to have been helping her friend out by giving her advice over dinner.

Earlier this month the two girls were spotted at Los Angeles restaurant Osteria La Buca, where Taylor appeared to be giving her 20-year-old friend a shoulder to cry on.

Sources say the pair were deep in conversation, with 22-year-old Taylor telling her younger friend how best to handle her relationship problems.
