Inside Amy Schumer comedienne Amy took home the Emmy for outstanding variety sketch show at the awards on Sunday night.

And following her win, Selena was quick to take to Twitter to express her joy over Amy’s success.

“I want to congratulate my absolute favourite @amyschumer !!” Selena wrote. “I've watched since it began and I'm so happy! #stalker.”

Selena attached the caption to a picture Amy had shared from the ceremony, which showed her alongside the Game of Thrones cast with the title “My real family”.

The singer has long been a fan of Amy’s.

Earlier this year, Selena shared a snap of herself watching an advance copy of Amy’s movie Trainwreck in her own screening room, before tweeting Amy and asking her to “teach me your ways”.

Selena isn’t the only celebrity to have come forward to congratulate Amy on her Emmy win.

Jennifer Lawrence, who has been working with Amy on an upcoming comedy movie, dropped her a text message shortly after her victory.

“Jennifer sent me a really sweet text,” Amy told Entertainment Tonight. “She said that I looked pretty but not smart.”

Modern Family star Julie Bowen was also keen to make fast friends with Amy.

“In my mind, I had it all played out that if I saw you I was going to fall to the ground like you did with Kim and Kanye but I can’t in this,” Julie told Amy as they chatted on the red carpet. “Things would come out. In my mind, I hang out with you. In my mind we’re best friends.”

Amy looked incredible in a strapless teal silk dress for the occasion.
