Serena Williams 'dating Reddit co-founder'
Tennis ace Serena Williams has allegedly struck up a romance with Alexis Ohanian.
Sports star Serena Williams is reportedly dating Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.
The tennis ace has been linked to rapper Drake in the past but sources claim she's now seeing the businessman. And it seems their romance is just beginning.
“They met at a lunch,” a source told Us Weekly. “It’s new.”
A second insider added her thing with Drake was just a "flirty friendship" and that she's so smitten with her rumoured new man, he even joined her at a workout on Saturday (24Oct15). It seems he's just as taken with Serena, even learning about tennis to impress her.
“He called her babe and they held hands," an onlooker divulged. “He said he’d never been into tennis until they started dating!”
And things aren't just going well in Serena's personal life. This year (15) she scooped the Best Female Tennis Player ESPY Award and Women's Sports Foundation Sportswoman of the Year prize. Wired magazine chose her to appear in its trailblazer issue and she spoke out about the importance of the honour.
"I’m a black woman, and I am in a sport that wasn’t really meant for black people," she told the publication. "I want young people to look at the trailblazers that we have assembled (in this issue) and be inspired.”
Of course things aren't always plain sailing and the sportswoman lost her bid for the Grand Slam in tennis in September (15). Luckily she has ways to stay motivated in tough times.
“Back in 2008, when I was competing in the US Open, I would keep little 'matchbooks', where I’d write affirmations to myself and read them during matches," she revealed. "It worked pretty well. But before long I found an even better way to inspire myself: I started using affirmations as the passwords to my phone and my computer. (No, I’m not going to tell you what my current affirmation is!) You should try it. You’ll be surprised how many times a day you log in and have an opportunity to trigger the positivity. I love that I can use technology that way."
