Sevigny shocked by Brit TV budgets

Chloe Sevigny was surprised by Hit + Miss's budget

Chloe Sevigny has admitted she was shocked by how low the budget was on her new British series Hit + Miss.

The Oscar-nominated American actress said: "I didn't realise what a low budget there was going to be."

"England turns out so much TV and they do it on such a smaller scale than we do in America.

"I thought I was going to show up and it'd be this big-budget type thing and I was like, 'Really?' It was like making an independent movie for four-and-a-half months. The schedule was gruelling."

In Hit + Miss, Sevigny plays Mia, a contract killer with a secret: she's a transgender woman.

"I think people will be surprised because of the way it's been sold with that tagline but by the end of the first episode they'll realise it's not the way they expect it to be.

"There's no campness; it's realism and lyrical and heart-wrenching," said the 37-year-old.

:: Hit + Miss starts on Sky Atlantic tonight (May 22).

Gemini:

This is a good time to establish a routine. Create a schedule that strikes a nice balance between your personal and professional lives. You're the type of person who needs plenty of intellectual stimulation outside of work. If you've been spending too much time at the office, reduce your hours. This may mean less money, but you can't put a price on happiness. You might even decide to take a job with unconventional hours so you can play sports or spend more time outdoors.More
