Shailene to ‘lie low’
Shailene Woodley says she is going to take a break from making movies in order to pursue other hobbies.
The 22-year-old actress has had a tremendous year so far, as she released sci-fi blockbuster Divergent and is currently promoting drama The Fault in Our Stars.
But Shailene isn’t interested in making movies nonstop and she wants to take it easy for a little while.
“I’m going to lie low and explore some of life’s other artistic facets,” she told V magazine.
Shailene didn’t reveal exactly what hobbies she will be pursuing, but the star did speak recently about her concern with environmental issues. She's very health conscious and previously revealed she hadn't eaten at McDonald's since childhood.
"I try to avoid using plastic bottles and don't eat genetically engineered foods," she said. "I also try to live in a very independent way; theoretically, I want to be able to survive alone in the wilderness, without solid walls or a refrigerator."
Shailene also spoke about her desire to keep things straightforward in her day-to-day life, especially now her fame is growing.
"My attitude is simple: why should I make my life, or anyone else's, more difficult than it already is? All we really need is oxygen and sunlight. There's enough of that, so everything is good," she smiled to German magazine Joy.
The actress portrays cancer sufferer Hazel Grace Lancaster in The Fault in Our Stars, a teenager who falls in love with a boy also battling the disease.
The film will be released in US theatres this weekend.
