Shannen Doherty called police after a woman threatened to kill herself if the actress didn't contact her, according to reports.

The former Beverly Hills, 90210 actress was reportedly contacted via Twitter by a disturbed 27-year-old woman.

E! News reports Shannen informed authorities after the woman begged her to get in touch and threatened to harm herself if she did not.

Authorities went to the woman's New Jersey home at approximately 9:30pm on Sunday after she gave Shannen her address.

A Westampton Township Police Department spokesperson said the woman was at home with family when they arrived.

Investigators did not find signs that she attempted to harm herself. She also refused medical attention, according to the report.

The woman's identity has not been revealed by police.

Shannen took to Twitter after the investigation to thank authorities for their help.

"Thank you to the Westampton police department for being diligent and so reassuring," she wrote. Responding to queries about why she was thanking police, the actress clarified: "Thanks gang. Police wasn't for me, was a girl on here who needed their help."
