Sharapova: why she loves her man
Maria Sharapova is impressed with boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov’s taste in presents.
The 2006 tennis champion pulled out of the US Open today after injuring her shoulder.
However she can look forward to her beau Grigor Dimitrov spoiling her while she recovers.
“He gets really good gifts, there’s not one gift I haven’t liked. So that’s good,” she revealed about the 22-year-old sportsman to E! News. “I love jewellery.”
During her time-out from this year’s tournament Maria is hoping to do some shopping and she’ll look to her classy beau for advice on what to buy.
“He has better taste than I do,” she laughed. “It’s always better. He gives really good advice.”
The 26-year-old Russian beauty is currently promoting her Maria Sharapova Collection for Nike and her fresh Sugarpova accessories line available at Henri Bendel.
It was recently reported that she was even set to change her name to “Sugarpova” for the US Open.
Sharapova was supposedly so keen to promote her new sweets that she wanted to become a living promotion for it.
Britain’s The Times newspaper claimed she had applied for permission from the Supreme Court of Florida to undergo a moniker transformation as part of a marketing ploy.
The athlete would then “revert to Sharapova” once the two-week event had ended next month.
Maria was allegedly working with her management team at IMG to guarantee the candy line’s branding would be in good view while she was playing.
“It is understood also that the striking emblem of Sugarpova candy, a pair of red lips, will feature somewhere on her outfit during the final grand slam of the year,” the newspaper wrote.
Maria launched Sugarpova around the world a few months ago.
She is said to have invested around $500,000 into the company to get it off the ground.
