Sharon O: Pearl is divine
Sharon Osbourne loves watching her granddaughter Pearl develop.
The former X Factor judge is a grandmother to her son Jack’s two-year-old daughter Pearl. As the first grandchild in the famous family’s clan, the 61-year-old is loving watching the youngster develop.
“She’s divine. She’s fearless,” she told People magazine. “She’s swimming up a storm now. Her favourite thing is dive-bombing into the pool and swimming to the steps.”
The little girl clearly gets her adventurous spirit from her 28-year-old father. When the family’s reality show ended in 2005, Jack went on to become a travel reporter, hosting shows including Jack Osbourne: Adrenaline Junkie.
“He’s always been fearless,” Sharon added.
The Talk co-host feels privileged to have a second chance with her family. She has spoken in the past at the guilt she felt for being a working mother when her three children were growing up.
“I worked so much when my kids were little and I’ve got a second chance and I don’t want to blow it,” she told British newspaper The Sun last year.
However for Jack, his mum is still as much a dominating force as she was when he was a child. The star, who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2012, revealed earlier this year that he stopped telling Sharon things about his illness after she had broken down on The Talk as she discussed his condition.
“I just don’t tell her anything [now]; It’s just the safest way to be. I think she took it a little bit worse than I did in some regards, but she tends to bear the burden more than me at times. It’s just because she’s a controlling mother. That’s it,” he laughed to Smashing Interviews Magazine.
