Sharon Osbourne: Britney isn't a train wreck

Sharon Osbourne

Sharon Osbourne is glad Britney Spears hasn't been the "train wreck" people have expected.

Britney joined the panel of the American version of The X Factor this year. Her father and several other people are still in charge of her personal and professional affairs thanks to a conservatorship she was placed under following her 2008 meltdown. It means Britney hasn't been in the limelight as much as she might have been, so many queried the decision to allow her to appear on the show.

Sharon is thrilled her friend Simon Cowell took a chance on Britney and thinks the singer has showed how far she's come.

"People thought she was going to be a train wreck and she's not. She's a very nice girl - and she's had a hell of a tough time. All she has ever really done is work and make money for people. Now, she's come to the age where she can take control of her life," Sharon told Heat magazine.

Sharon has worked with Simon on several programmes and has agreed to judge a dog talent show for him. She loves the music mogul, even though he drives her crazy at times.

"Believe me, if I wasn't friends with him I wouldn't be here [on the dog show] now! I can say anything I like to Simon. But if anybody else does… that's not allowed!" she laughed. "I've gone past the ten-year mark with Simon, so I'm OK."

It's important to treat yourself well. Constantly deferring to others will deprive you of the finer things in life. Carve time out of your busy schedule to pamper yourself. Taking a nap, solitary walk or hot bath will revive your spirits. Get into the habit of spending more money on creature comforts. Treat such as gourmet food, beautiful clothes and intriguing books are investments in your happiness. Others may object at being put farther down on your list of priorities, but that's their problem.More
