Sharon Osbourne: I stand by Kelly
Sharon Osbourne has lent her support to daughter Kelly after the 30-year-old left her post on TV talk show, Fashion Police.
The 30-year-old recently left her post on E! talk show Fashion Police, after the programme became embroiled in controversy due to co-host Giuliana Rancic’s racially charged comments about Zendaya’s hair at the Oscars.
And Sharon thinks Kelly made a very wise choice.
“I stand by her,” the matriarch told Extra. “You know, she had an amazing five years on the show and she learned so much from Joan [Rivers]. It was just her time. She’s got to grow up, move into the big world.”
Last year Kelly debuted her new clothing line Stories by KO, which is available for purchase online through HSN.
And although it’s unclear who will replace her on Fashion Police, Sharon thinks E! will have no problem filling her position.
“There are lots of great names, lots of great people over at E! that they have on contract,” Sharon noted. “They’ll slip into that chair and be done and dusted like that.”
Khloé Kardashian and Amber Rose were both rumoured to be considering the gig.
Kelly spoke for the first time on Tuesday about why she chose to depart from her role on Fashion Police.
Although she was also upset over Giuliana saying Zendaya’s dreadlocked hairdo at the Oscars made her look like she smelled of “patchouli oil and weed”, Kelly said she’d rather focus on the bright side of her experience with the programme.
“You know what, it was the five best working years of my life,” she shared, while appearing on The Talk alongside mother Sharon. “I am so grateful for the experience… working with Joan Rivers for five years was incredible.”
