Sharon Osbourne overwhelmed by granddaughter

Sharon Osbourne says becoming a grandmother is "overwhelming".

Her son Jack and his fiancée Lisa Stelly welcomed daughter Pearl into the world earlier this week. Sharon has gushed about the birth of her first grandchild.

"It's all overwhelming," she told People.

Sharon is already hoping for more additions to her family. She is waiting for her other children Aimee and Kelly to walk down the aisle and become parents.

"I've got two more girls to marry off," she said. "There will be more grandkids!"

The TV star says her husband Ozzy had been imparting his words of wisdom. The rocker has told Jack to cherish the precious moments with his baby daughter.

"[He told Jack,], 'This is a love that is so special,'" she said. "He said, 'You will never experience a love like this, other than a father and a daughter. It's a very, very special love.'"

Sharon has been surrounded by baby talk in her professional and private life. She recently joined her fellow hosts on The Talk to throw a baby shower for 250 pregnant women. The women received gifts including strollers, clothing and fine jewellery.

The 59-year-old discusses her granddaughter on the episode which airs Friday.

"[Pearl's] healthy and gorgeous," Sharon said during the episode. "It's like a new life. There's nothing like it, nothing like to witness it. It's just an amazing event."

The mother-of-three was in the delivery room with Lisa. The experience is one she will treasure for the rest of her life.

"You go through every emotion," she said. "You go through joy and you thank God that everybody is healthy and happy. You realise how lucky you are. It's like life has gone full cycle in our family."
