Sheen 'heartsick' over twins
Charlie Sheen is said to be devastated following reports his ex-wife Brooke Mueller could be on track to win back custody of their children.
The actor's ex-wife Denise Richards has been caring for four-year-olds Bob and Max since his former spouse Brooke lost custody of them in May. Authorities were reportedly concerned with her ability to care for the toddlers due to her addiction issues and she was placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold.
She spent time in rehab and last week it was claimed she has impressed Los Angeles social workers with her progress, meaning she may be able to look after the boys by the end of the year.
"[The twins] are so happy with Denise and Charlie is absolutely heartsick that Brooke is on track to get the boys back," an insider claimed to RadarOnline.
"It’s just not safe for the boys to be in her care."
Brooke has completed many stints in rehab and Charlie reportedly fears she will never be able to overcome her addiction issues.
Charlie was married to Denise before Brooke and he has daughters Sam, nine, and eight-year-old Lola with the actress. She has consistently stepped in to care for Bob and Max when Brooke has been ill and Charlie apparently feels she gives his sons a good sense of stability. He has also enjoyed spending time with Denise and the four kids.
"Charlie is a great dad and loves spending time with the kids. He doesn’t let them run wild and eat junk food. He tends to be very strict and keeps all four kids on their routine schedule," the source said.
A custody hearing is due in December and it's alleged Charlie will state he believes the twins should remain with Denise.
Brooke has apparently been taking parenting classes in an effort to prove how ready she is to look after her children.
