Sheen: Lohan had us held hostage!

Charlie Sheen has been looking out for Lindsay Lohan

Charlie Sheen has joked that Lindsay Lohan had the Anger Management set "held hostage" when she appeared on the show.

The US actor recently welcomed Li-Lo onto his comedy, where she played a patient who fell for his therapist character, and there were rumours that the starlet was up to her old antics during filming last month.

But Charlie has rushed to defend the actress, saying that although she was late on the second day she was "prepared" and did a great job.

He told US chat show host Jay Leno: "Day one was fabulous. She was on time, she knew her lines, hit every mark, made us look off our game... And then we had to deal with day two."

The 47-year-old explained that Li-Lo was late on the second day due to an earache. "It was as though she had us held hostage because she gave us half a show," he joked.

"She was really not feeling well. We just worked around it. She was late, what can I say? But when she got there, she was prepared. With an excuse."

Charlie also rubbished claims the actress took jewellery from the set.

The actor has offered Lindsay a helping hand before, after they got friendly when they worked together on Scary Movie 5. Last year he helped pay her tax bill and earlier this year it emerged that he helped to get a dress for her to wear to a celebrity event.

The former Two And A Half Men star, who has had his fair share of controversy, recently admitted he feels a certain affinity with Lindsay and offered himself up as a mentor.

Lindsay, 26, is currently facing 90 days in rehab as part of a plea deal in a misdemeanour car crash case in California.
