Sheeran and Swift ‘have a lot in common’
Ed Sheeran has spoken about why he believes he and Taylor Swift are good musical collaborators and how she invited him to join her upcoming Red concert tour via text.
The British Grammy-nominated songwriter and the American country singer have collaborated previously, writing tune Everything Has Changed for Taylor’s recent Red album.
Ed thinks that he and Taylor collaborate so well together because they are extremely similar.
"We're male and female, but we do exactly the same thing like we're both the same age, we both write songs with guitars we both tour playing acoustic music and that's kind of it," Ed told MTV News.
"We've got a similar sense of humour. I guess we just have a lot in common."
Ed reveals that there is a “large possibility” that the pair will compose new music together while they tour on Taylor’s upcoming North American concert series.
The musician reveals that the songstress asked him to be her opening act via mobile.
"There's no one really bigger in the world right now that I could tour with so to be able to get on that tour and to be invited on its not like some of these tours where people have to pay money or it's a favour," Ed said.
"She just literally texted me saying, 'Do you want to come on tour?' and I was like, 'Yes.' "
Taylor’s Red Tour will kick off in Omaha, Nebraska on March 13.
