Shenton: I'm quitting Hollyoaks

Rachel Shenton is bidding farewell to Hollyoaks.

The actress has played wannabe Wag Mitzeee Minniver for two years but revealed she is bowing out to "move onto pastures new".

The star's final week on the show in February will see Mitzeee appear on Sky News with Eamonn Holmes, in scenes the pair shot earlier this week.

Mitzeee has had a turbulent year on the Hollyoaks. Her life was turned upside down when Riley Costello (played by Rob Norbury) was shot by rogue undercover cop, Walker (Neil Newbon) and viewers are set to see the unexpected return of Riley's vengeful father Carl Costello (Paul Opacic) who ropes Mitzeee into a revenge scheme.

"Mitzeee's final week is not to be missed, especially when she finds herself chatting to the fabulous Mr Holmes," Rachel said.

"I've had an amazing two years playing Mitzeee. She's been on an incredible journey that's not over yet... It's been an absolute privilege to work with the cast and crew that make Hollyoaks such a special place.

"This has been one of the hardest decisions I've made, but I feel it's time for Mitzeee and myself to move onto pastures new."

Rachel and Eamonn's episode will air on Thursday February 14 at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with a first look on Wednesday February 13 at 7pm on E4.
