Sheridan: Brand is just a mate

Sheridan Smith has called Russell Brand a friend

Sheridan Smith has insisted Russell Brand is just a "mate" after they were spotted having dinner together.

The Mrs Biggs star, 31, and the 36-year-old comedian sparked rumours of a romance when they arrived together at a food festival.

Sheridan was also been snapped attending Russell's stand-up gig in London and the pair apparently had dinner together afterwards.

But the actress tweeted: "Just had dinner with lovely friends. And yes they're wrong yet again. He's one of my best mates."

Russell was pictured kissing a mystery blonde later on the same night.

Sheridan split from her last longterm boyfriend James Corden in 2009.

She went on to date Amy Winehouse's ex, director Reg Traviss.

Russell married Katy Perry in October 2010 but the couple split 14 months later.

Leo:

You feel optimistic and for good reason. An admirer has been trying to win your heart. All this attention is flattering. If you're single, keep playing hard to get. The more you resist, the more they'll persist. Are you already in a relationship? Start pursuing a cherished dream. Fulfilling your heart's desire will make you a better partner and friend. Dwelling on what might have been will just make you bitter. Take a risk. It's better to try and fail than be paralysed by fear.More
