Shilton: I've got more to show

Peter Shilton reckons he's got more to give on Strictly

Peter Shilton wants to show Strictly Come Dancing viewers more of what he's got.

The former England goalkeeper, who was criticised by judge Craig Revel Horwood for letting partner Erin Boag slip through his fingers in his last performance, claims he has more skills to offer.

"I believe I've got a lot more to give - this week's the Latin dance, so hopefully I can go out there and show people what Peter Shilton's really made of," he said.

"I'm down in that little relegation period and people are getting voted off this week, so I don't want to go this week. It'll certainly be a lot different to last week, I can promise that."

Peter defended his first dance, saying he played it safe.

"I thought in my first show I went into my goalkeeping mode. I was a bit safe and secure and didn't want to make a mistake, and got through the routine pretty well technically wise," he admitted.

"But I didn't really perform, I didn't give a bit of that, and that's what Strictly's about. The crowd and the judges want to see you get out there and enjoy yourself. I was doing that in training but on the night it didn't quite go (to plan). But it was OK."

:: Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One on Saturdays and Sundays.
