Shriver ‘canceled plans over Miley’
Maria Shriver apparently boycotted Miami’s Art Basel to avoid being around her son’s new girlfriend Miley Cyrus.
The 59-year-old journalist’s son Patrick Schwarzenegger has recently started dating the controversial pop star, and there have been various reports claiming Maria doesn’t approve. Now she’s thought to have avoided the famed Miami art event in protest, even after she made plans to attend with her brother Anthony Shriver.
“Maria was going to go to Art Basel to spend some time with Anthony, but when she heard Miley was going to be there with Patrick, she canceled,” a source told Page Six.
Miley and Patrick have been spotted together all week at the various parties, which have taken place across the city. They were seen smoking together on a balcony and partying at strip club E11even.
A report by the publication earlier this week even claims Miley was seen making out with Paris Hilton on one of these occasions. Patrick, whose father is Arnold Schwarzenegger, is thought to be less responsible than his girlfriend for the antics.
“Patrick is antidrugs, but Miley doesn’t give a f***,” another source told Page Six. “She smoked marijuana onstage, and God knows what else she was on for the rest of the weekend. She and Patrick were heard fighting about it, and also because his uncle Anthony had trouble getting into her party at the Raleigh. There’s no way Patrick can be linked to drug use; his family is American royalty.”
But even if Maria is unhappy about Patrick’s new relationship, apparently his uncle isn’t. Anthony is reportedly a fan of the “sweet” star.
“Patrick’s relatives, particularly Anthony, really like Miley. She does a lot of good work for charity. While she can be wild, she is a sweet person,” another insider told the outlet.
