Simon Cowell angry with TV 'dirty tricks'

Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell has claimed The Voice is pulling "dirty tricks" against The X Factor in the US.

The media mogul is angered by NBC's decision to schedule an episode of their singing contest against the world premiere of the new X Factor series. Simon has taken their decision personally, claiming The Voice is jealous of The X Factor's new judging panel.

"These guys have really got it in for us. It's nothing short of dirty tricks," Simon fumed to TMZ.

"This is a cynical, cold-hearted, unprofessional way of doing business. The reason they've done this is they don't want people to see X Factor because they've heard how good the series is. They don't want their audience to see Britney Spears. They don't want their audience to see Demi Lovato."

Simon continued his rant by speculating that Britney will also be vexed by the network's move. The music mogul claims it could reignite Britney's long-standing feud with Christina Aguilera, who is a judge on The Voice.

"Britney's going to be devastated because she's put her heart and soul into this," Simon fumed. "She's not going to appreciate the fact that Christina - who has been a bit of a rival - isn't allowing Britney to have a night of her own."
