Simon Cowell 'can't commit'

Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell is allegedly eager to get things back on track with his former partner Mezhgan Hussainy, despite being the "eternal bachelor".

The 53-year-old music mogul and make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy called time on their engagement over a year ago.

The former couple have stayed in touch and have been pictured together since. Sources say Simon is keen to keep Mezhgan in his life.

"They've been getting on well and are unofficially seeing each other again. Simon's asked her to give their romance another shot and have fun like the early days. But he's being very upfront; he's an eternal bachelor and doesn't want to be tied down," a source told British magazine Closer. "It seems Mezhgan is tempted by the offer - she still has feelings for Simon, and he's always been very good to her. She's perfectly happy not to have to worry about acting like Simon's fiancée all the time, yet still be able to enjoy the fun side of him. She doesn't want to be tied down either.

"Simon likes having her by his side. Although he doesn't want to fully commit, he'd be gutted if she got into a proper relationship with anyone else."

Simon has spoken of his desire to have children, and a source has revealed that the TV talent judge would love to start a family with Mezhgan if the right time came along.

"As he gets older, Simon's feeling he's missed out by not having a child. Mezhgan's always saying how he'd love to be a dad - and pals say if he ever had kids, it would be with her."
