Simon Cowell hints he'll marry

Simon Cowell has hinted that he's no longer horrified by the idea of marriage and that he's set to wed Lauren Silverman.

The X Factor boss and notorious bachelor, 53, said that he did not plan to witness the birth of his baby - who he hinted was a boy.

But asked about getting hitched, the Daily Mirror reported that he told Ryan Seacrest on his Direct From Hollywood radio show: "I wouldn't expect Lauren to be a single mother."

Cowell said that he would be "very close by" when Lauren, 36, who is divorced from Andrew Silverman, gives birth.

But asked if he would be attending the birth, he replied: "Are you out of your mind? There are certain things you shouldn't see and that is one of them."

When Ryan said of the sex of Cowell's unborn child, due in February: "I think it's a boy," Simon replied: "That would be a good guess."

And he joked: "The baby has to have an English accent."

Simon was previously engaged to Mezhgan Hussainy.

But he said earlier this year: "No matter how big your house is, you are going to end up on the same sofa, in the same bed or in the same room as a person, you are going to get bored. It's a boring routine."
