Simon Cowell reveals hopes for X Factor future

Simon Cowell insisted he is not retiring any time soon and said he wants to be in the X Factor chair for another 10 years.

He says the show, which has been running for more than a decade, has a "passionate and loyal audience" and claims viewing figures are up after a shaky opening week.

"Would I like to be celebrating my 60th birthday with X Factor still on air? Yes I would," the 56-year-old told The Sun.

"I wouldn't worry about the future of X Factor. We're going to be fine.

"If we're still here in 10 years' time, we'll have a very large celebration."

Tonight will be a test of fans' loyalty when the X Factor will clash with its main rival Strictly Come Dancing.
