Simon Le Bon feared career end

Duran Duran

Simon Le Bon thought his musical career was over after he suffered a major vocal scare last year.

The Duran Duran frontman had serious throat problems after he lost his voice during a concert in 2011, which turned out to be a haemorrhage on his vocal folds.

The singer explained that when his voice didn't recover for three months, he feared this would mean the end for his musical career and the whole group's future seemed in jeopardy.

"[Last year] we were playing a show in the south of France and I went for a high note and lost my voice," he told ET Online ahead of a surprise gig in New York. "None of us really knew whether we were going to be getting back on the road at all."

After undergoing therapy with little success, Simon decided to take a break and suddenly experienced a breakthrough.

The star knew he was on the mend when his previously fragile vocal range showed improvement.

"I actually had an improvement in range," he said. "And when that happened I knew things were going to get better."

This isn't a good time to make travel plans. Weather conditions and work responsibilities have a way of wreaking havoc with your schedule. Wait another few days before putting down a hefty deposit. Working behind the scenes will yield significant rewards. If someone asks you to serve as their assistant, go ahead and accept. The pay will be excellent and there will be a lot of fringe benefits, too. Don't talk about a neighbour's private life in mixed company.More
