Simpson: I thought life was over after weight gain

Jessica Simpson admits that she couldn't believe her weight would ever get as high as it did post-pregnancy.

The 32-year-old singer-and-actress famously packed on 70lbs. while she was expecting her daughter Maxwell, who was born in May 2012.

Jessica, who is now pregnant with her second child with former American footballer Eric Johnson, had no real concept of what she truly weighed while expectant for the first time.

The Weight Watchers representative came to terms with reality pretty brutality during her initial weigh-in with the diet programme.

"It was the first time I had to come face-to-face with the scale, and I looked at the scale, and I thought my life was completely over," she revealed in a personal video for Weight Watchers' I'm Only Human And I Did It project.

"I was not expecting to see the number that I saw, because it's just never a number that I could fathom weighing -- but I did. I had a moment there where I was standing on the scale, and faced with a severe truth -- and I didn't know if I could do it. I really didn't know if it was gonna happen for me."

Jessica will not eat voraciously this time around.

She will nourish herself and the baby with healthy meals.

"Now I'm pregnant again, and I'm looking at the scale, and I'm making the right decisions with what I'm eating," Jessica said.

"I still have my desserts -- just not four of them."
