Simpsons to appear on Family Guy

Family Guy is set for a meeting with The Simpsons

The Simpsons are set to appear on Family Guy in an upcoming crossover episode.

Homer, Bart and co will meet the Griffins in an instalment of the animated comedy titled The Simpsons Guy.

Their get together comes about after Peter and the rest of the Griffins go on a road trip and end up in Springfield, where they meet the Simpsons and the two families "get along famously".

In the episode, Peter and Homer will be seen arguing over which beer is better, Pawtucket or Duff, Marge and Lois have a heart-to-heart and Bart's tricks go down well with Stewie.

Family Guy's Peter said in a press release: "Fox hasn't spent this much money since they took Simon Cowell tight T-shirt shopping!"

It won't be the first time there has been a crossover between the two Fox animated comedies - Peter (Seth MacFarlane) popped up on The Simpsons in 2002 and Homer (Dan Castellaneta) appeared on Family Guy last year.

The episode is set to air in 2014.
