Singer Sam Smith hurt over abuse of friend in London
Sam Smith has said he was left "speechless" after a friend was allegedly racially abused.
The singer said he never thought such a thing would happen in London.
He told his four million Twitter followers that he felt he had to "shine some sort of light on it".
It is unclear what exactly happened and Smith (23) does not refer to a precise time or location.
In a series of tweets, he wrote: "Just experienced my friend getting verbally abused racially in London. I am absolutely SPEECHLESS.
"I never ever ever ever thought that would happen here. Absolutely speechless and hurt. I feel like I have to shine some sort of light on it. I feel like I have to say something. I'm just so upset."
