Sinitta: Simon's found The One

Simon Cowell will probably expect his driver to take his child to school, jokes his ex-girlfriend Sinitta.

The music mogul caused a stir when it was recently revealed he is expecting his first child with American socialite Lauren Silverman. Now Lauren has settled her divorce, it seems Simon is ready to settle down. His former partner Sinitta believes the TV star has transformed since learning he will be a father.

"Yeah, I do [think he's found The One],” Sinitta said during an interview on UK TV show This Morning. "He does seem very happy they get along very well together. She absolutely adores him. I've been able to observe them on this holiday and I see him very happy, very relaxed. It's very different and surreal, but he does seem happy and I think surprised. I don't think he was expecting to go in that direction."

Simon famously remains friends with his exes, including Sinitta and former fiancée Mezhgan Hussainy. He even invites them to join him on holiday, with the ladies sometimes referred to as his ‘harem’. Sinitta finds it frustrating that so much focus is placed on Simon’s bond with his former flames and insists the relationships are purely platonic.

"Well, that's a bit insulting as isn't a harem a group of women who all sleep with the same man?” she said. "That's not nice, is it? We've been friends for 30 years. Once you get to a certain age, you hopefully do have lifelong friends and people don't accuse you of all sleeping together or anything being seedy."

Sinitta accepts the situation might change if Simon decides to marry Lauren. However, she believes the 53-year-old star will still want to be surrounded by his friends.

"Simon and I have holidayed together for 30 years. It might change if it isn't what Lauren wants. Simon is a creature of habit, so he may think 'great' and it may continue now that he has his own wife and child,” she said. “I mean, I don't know if they are getting married, but now he will have his partner and child with him as well.

"I can imagine him thinking in his mind, 'We're just a bigger family now'."

Although Simon is looking forward to his new role as a father, Sinitta doubts he will be hands-on when it comes to tasks like taking his child to school each morning.

"I can imagine Tony the Driver being there,” she joked.

Lauren’s due date is believed to be February, with the couple reportedly expecting a boy.
