Sir Ben praises Scorsese's Cabret

Sir Ben Kingsley has enjoyed working with Martin Scorsese again

Sir Ben Kingsley can't wait for cinemagoers to see Hugo Cabret, Martin Scorsese's foray into 3D which comes out at the end of this year

"It's his 3D examination of the early days of cinema," Sir Ben explained in Hollywood. "It couldn't get better than that!"

The veteran actor, who worked previously on Scorsese's Shutter Island, turned out to celebrate Brit Week at the British Consul General's Residence in Los Angeles.

The star insisted that returning to work with one of the world's finest directors on the project set in 1930s Paris had been an honour.

"It's my second film with Marti and I really enjoy working with him," he said.

"[Scorsese] directs with such gentility and decency, [he's a] lovely man. He's fiercely passionate about what he does."

The film, which also stars Jude Law and Kick-Ass' Chloe Moretz, is due to be released in the UK in December.
