SJP out of the dress code loop

Sarah Jessica Parker narrowly avoided a fashion faux pas

Sarah Jessica Parker managed to scrape through a fashion faux pas when no one told her about the dress code at an exclusive Hollywood event she attended.

The Sex And The City star and fashion icon turned up to the amfAR Inspiration Gala in Los Angeles, in honour of her agent Kevin Huvane, where the dress code was 'Black Tie and Sportswear'. But luckily Sarah Jessica had dug a vintage Chanel jumpsuit out of the back of her wardrobe and managed to look glamorous and sporty.

She revealed on the red carpet: "I didn't know there was a theme! Apparently there was a theme - there was an athletic theme and I had no idea.

"I styled myself. I picked it literally because it fit! This is an old Chanel jump suit, it's like 15 years old, that I've had in my closet. And my old Manolos [Manolo Blahnik shoes]."

Other guests at the gala included Katy Perry, Octavia Spencer, David Furnish, Kate Hudson, Rose McGowan, Kristin Davis, Victoria's Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio, and Rumer Willis.

Sarah Jessica said: "Kevin's been my agent for 26 years. It's inspiring to see what's happened in his life, professionally, but also to see his family and what that's meant to him and what an integral part of his professional life it's been, the motivating force for him."

The actress presented Kevin with Piaget's Award of Inspiration for his contributions to the fight against Aids.

amfAR was founded in 1985 and is dedicated to ending the global Aids epidemic through innovative research.
