SJP's Downton countdown

Sarah Jessica Parker was "counting down" to Downton Abbey's season four premiere.

The British period drama made its season four debut Sunday night and fans were glued to their TV screens, with #DowntonAbbey trending on Twitter.

And SJP admitted she was among those obsessed as she was counting the minutes until she could sit down and catch up on the show.

"Its the count "Downton" ! So freaking excited," she wrote (sic).

"OK home," she anxiously added later. "I hope my DVR didnt betray me!"

Despite the star's admitted addiction to the show, she recently turned down an offer to reprise her most famous small screen role.

The actress portrayed Carrie Bradshaw in the TV show Sex and the City and two subsequent movies based on the series, but she reportedly rejected $500,000 to appear in prequel The Carrie Diaries, the National Enquirer previously reported.

Sarah was apparently asked to appear in a flash-forward sequence, and decided against it.

"Sarah doesn't need the money and wasn't sure appearing on the show would be the right career move," an insider told the publication last year. "It would be like taking a step backward. So she's said goodbye to Carrie forever."

The Carrie Diaries hit screens in America last year with AnnaSophie Robb taking on the role of teenage Carrie Bradshaw.
