SJP’s ‘meaningful Mother’s Day’

Sarah Jessica Parker thinks it is important to recognise women who love unconditionally.

The 49-year-old Sex and the City actress shares son James as well as twin daughters Marion and Tabitha with her husband Matthew Broderick.

The United States celebrates Mother’s Day Sunday May 11, and Sarah is planning on expressing her appreciation to a number of women in her life this weekend.

"Mother's Day reminds us to recognise and celebrate the women who love us unconditionally and support us through life's ups and downs – not just our own mothers, but also our sisters, friends and anyone else who's touched our lives in a meaningful way,” she told Us Weekly magazine.

Sarah created a special line of one dozen Mother’s Day greeting cards for Hallmark’s Crown Signature Collection in honour of the holiday.

And she is elated her work will have a positive impact on thousands of people come Sunday.

“It makes me very happy to think that the Hallmark cards I had a hand in creating will bring joy to all types of 'moms' this Mother's Day," Sarah smiled.

Sarah is one of eight siblings and half-siblings and she learnt at a young age to treasure what she has.

“My mother was chic but we were broke. Inside the house was chaos and madness… I appreciate everything,” she explained to Harper’s Bazaar magazine previously.

“I think that there are probably a lot of people that don’t care as much, and it all still works for them. But I can’t have my name on something and not be totally involved. It can often make things really hard but that’s simply the way I have to be.”
