Snooki had 'perfect' Jersey Shore baby shower

Snooki

Snooki's baby shower was "perfect", says her Jersey Shore co-star Deena Cortese.

Snooki - real name Nicole Polizzi - and her fiancé Jionni LaValle welcomed baby Lorenzo into the world in August.

To celebrate, the cast of the popular MTV series threw the 25-year-old and her new arrival a secret bash.

"It was hard because we had to stay away from her," Deena explained to MTV News. "Just like when we would do things she thought we were leaving her, but when we were leaving it was actually because we were doing something for the baby shower and she couldn't really be there so she felt really left out for a little bit but it was OK because in the end it turned out perfect."

In the early days of the reality TV show, Snooki was known for her outrageous drunken antics.

Deena confessed it was hard adjusting to her friend - who she affectionately calls 'meatball' - becoming a mother.

"I think my struggle was during the first couple episodes I was trying to find a meatball and trying to replace Nicole, and she was there the entire time and we didn't need alcohol," Deena explained. "So I think in these next couple episodes you see us unite and realise we can still be meatballs... I think it just shows us on a different level."

The baby shower is shown in the latest series of Jersey Shore and features some drama between Jionni and Vinny Guadagnino, who Snooki previously hooked up with.

Deena assured the tension between the boys didn't dampen the other guests' spirits.

"It was awkward because there was so much going on," Deena recalled. "But at the same time I think it was more awkward for all of them rather than everybody else. I was there to celebrate Lorenzo and Nicole. Honestly, I don't care about the drama."
