Unlikely duo Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart are teaming up for a new TV show, in which they invite their famous friends over for a dinner party.
Rapper Snoop Dogg is teaming up with Martha Stewart for a new TV show.
The unlikely pair has partnered with U.S. network VH1 for a new unscripted weekly show titled Martha and Snoop’s Dinner Party, it has been announced.
The 10-episode series, in which the pop culture icons will throw a joint dinner party, will debut in the fall (16).
According to the Viacom-owned cable network, the programme will feature the Daytime Emmy Award-winning lifestyle expert and the rapper-producer throwing a party in which they invite their famous friends over for what is being described as “half-baked evening of cocktails, cooking, conversation and fun where nothing is off limits.”
“At our dinner party, we will exemplify America's fascination with food, entertaining and celebrity,” Martha said in a statement. “Martha & Snoop's Dinner Party will redesign the traditional food competition shows in a new, different and very funny way.”
While Snoop said that viewers should expect to see good parties filled with fun, food and unexpected guests.
“My homegirl, Martha, and I have a special bond that goes back,” he shared. “We’re gonna be cooking, drinking and having a good time with our exclusive friends. Can’t wait for you to see how we roll together!”
While the series will be the first joint project for the pair, it is not the only time they have been seen on screen together. The duo appeared on ABC's $100,000 Pyramid in June (16) and shared appearances on Comedy Central's Roast of Justin Bieber last year (15).
The TV show will also mark the latest collaboration for Snoop with Viacom, as he recently boarded VH1 corporate sibling MTV's scripted comedy Mary + Jane as an executive producer as well as recording the theme song for the series, in which he'll also guest star.
A release date for Martha and Snoop’s Dinner Party will be announced at a later date.
