Sofía Vergara was reluctant to even give her now-fiancé Joe Manganiello her number.

The 42-year-old Modern Family star couldn't have been more wrong, as now she's engaged to the hunky True Blood actor.

Things happened quickly after Sofía split from her former fiancé Nick Loeb in May last year and by July she was dating Joe.

“The day that I sent the press release [announcing the breakup with Nick Loeb], Joe immediately contacted Jesse Tyler Ferguson [Modern Family’s Mitchell Pritchett], like, 'Please, please, please tell her I want her number.' And I’m like, 'Jesse, no, he’s too handsome,'” she recalled in an interview with Vanity Fair magazine.

“Then, after two days of Jesse trying to convince me, I’m like, 'OK, give him my number.' I’m thinking, 'I’m in New Orleans shooting, and he’s in LA. Nothing’s going to happen.'

"But we started talking a lot, and then he showed up in New Orleans. Since then we’ve been inseparable. There’s nothing about him I’d change other than the fact that he’s four years younger than me.”

The star is well known for her Colombian accent, which has become a loveable feature of all her characters. Sofía admitted she hired a speech coach but she found it boring and tiring and was struggling because she has a bad ear. In the end, she decided to embrace her accent and concentrate on the acting.

It's not just her voice that marks her out - the star is well known for her curvaceous figure and is viewed as a sex symbol in Hollywood.

“My boobs are, like, huge," she laughed. “My whole life, buying a bra was a nightmare. What I used to do when I moved to LA, I found places like Frederick’s of Hollywood that make bras for [strippers]... Believe me, I wish I had fake boobs. I lay down and they completely go down like all the way, like here.”
