Britney Spears has laid on a special "southern style" evening for Hollywood celebs.

Hilary Duff, Twilight's Kellan Lutz, Kim Kardashian and Kelly Osbourne came out to the charity fundraiser for victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Britney, who wore a sophisticated lime-green Herve Leger dress, posed for pictures with her agent boyfriend Jason Trawick before welcoming guests.

"The St Bernard Project is an incredible organisation whose main focus is rebuilding Louisiana," the singer, who was raised in the southern state, said before the Hollywood event.

"I am so honoured to be part of this cause. Louisiana will always be a part of my soul."

Kelly, who was among the guests tucking into soul food and supporting a good cause, said: "I just did a movie with Miley [Cyrus] in New Orleans. I lived there for two and half months and I've seen first hand the devastation.

"It made me so passionate for them that anything that New Orleans ever needed I'm there for them because I love that city, they were so good to me," she said.
