Special Bafta honour for Strictly
Strictly Come Dancing is to receive a special Bafta award to recognise its decade of technical achievements.
The show will be celebrated at the British Academy Television Craft Awards next month and will honour the BBC One celebrity dance programme's "outstanding creative and technical teamwork".
Andrew Newman, who chairs Bafta's television committee, said the show had set "new standards for talent and creativity both here in the UK and around the world".
He said the technical team "really have raised the bar for studio entertainment across the globe".
The award will be presented at a ceremony at The Brewery in central London on April 27.
Series director for Strictly Nikki Parsons said: "Everyone gives 110 per cent to give the show the highest possible production values throughout every series, so it is an honour for us to be recognised for our contribution to the huge success of Strictly over the last 10 years."
