Stallone earns a crust in TV ad

Sylvester Stallone has found a new slice of the action - baking bread in a TV ad for Warburtons.

The 68-year-old Hollywood star plays The Deliverer in the advert for the Bolton-based bakery.

In his classic boxing movie Rocky, Stallone gets up at the crack of dawn to race up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art to get in shape for his big match. In TV ad The Deliverers, The Expendables star gets up to work as a truck driver, transporting fresh loaves around the country.

Stallone said: "I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Bolton and particularly loved spending time in the bakery. Maybe I should have stopped beating up bad guys a long time ago and gone into baking instead."

The ad premieres tonight during the first break of Britain's Got Talent on ITV.

Stallone's Expendables co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger recently made his debut alongside the meerkats in the Compare The Market commercials.
