Stars out at television awards

The only way was Essex on the red carpet of the National Television Awards as the stars of the reality TV show turned out in force.

Lauren Goodger, Lydia Bright, Joey Essex, Chloe Sims and their co-stars upped the glamour at the O2 arena along with the programme's former big names, model Amy Childs and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here runner-up Mark Wright.

Lydia, dressed in a classic full length gown and accompanied by her mum Debbie, said the TOWIE gang - nominated for the best reality gong - always liked to make an effort.

"I think all of us like to go a bit OTT. It's a privilege to even be here, it's amazing," she added.

They were joined on the red carpet by best drama nominees Downton Abbey, best talkshow hopefuls Loose Women, and soap nominees from Coronation Street and EastEnders.

Celebrity Juice's Fearne Cotton, sporting a beaded silver dress, said: "It's just quite weird being here and seeing the TOWIE cast next to Phillip Schofield who's beside the Loose Women, it's like you've eaten lots of cheese and had a really weird dream."

Meanwhile Lorraine Kelly, in a tartan dress in honour of Burns' Night, admitted she was less high maintenance than some of the other stars attending.

"I'm afraid that I'm somebody that does it all very last minute and because I don't come out that much, I just make sure that I throw my hair up, luckily I've still got my make-up from this morning on, so it's not too bad," she said.
