Stars Stand Up to Cancer
Halle Berry, Reese Witherspoon and Jon Hamm are taking donations at the annual charity event.
The actors and dozens of other A-listers signed on to lend a hand at the charity telethon at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.
Stars will begin taking calls at 8 p.m. local time to solicit donations to fight the disease during the fourth annual event.
Reese, Halle, Jon and other stars, including Magic Mike’s Joe Manganiello, as well as Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston, Ben Stiller, Danny McBride, Dane Cook and Pierce Brosnan, are all taking part, reports HollywoodLife.
The telethon will air on all major US networks as well as stream live on Hulu and Yahoo!, and will see stars reaching out to viewers via telephone and social media for the “We’re Calling You” campaign.
Ariana Grande, The Who, Dave Matthews and Jennifer Hudson are among stars scheduled to perform, the latter star joining forces with Lupe Fiasco and Common to entertain viewers with their new track, Remission.
The song is a play off Lupe’s Mission, remixed to inspire those affected by cancer.
Stand Up To Cancer was founded in 2008 by the Entertainment Industry Foundation.
CBS Los Angeles reports the charity has raised more than $261 million over the past six years to help fund its efforts.
