Stefani: It’s an amazing time
Gwen Stefani is reportedly working on a No Doubt album and a solo album.
The songstress is in the studio working on a No Doubt album as well as a solo album. Her last solo album, Sweet Escape, was released in 2006. The hitmaker is evidently teaming up with another music sensation as she gets back into music.
“It’s just an amazing time; so many opportunities,” the performer told MTV News. “I’m going into the studio tonight with Pharrell [Williams], I’m going to be writing and also just seeing what comes along my way. I’ve been recording a few things.”
This is not the first time Pharrell and Gwen have worked together. Pharrell’s Can I Have It Like That single featured the 44-year-old songstress. The Happy performer also teamed up with Gwen on her single Hollaback Girl.
“You’ll never believe that she does not look her age, she doesn’t look like she’s had three children — but that’s the cool part, she is her age and she’s had three children and she’s killing it,” Pharrell told MTV News.
“When I tell you she’s killing it, it’s another level. Gwen is somewhere else.”
No Doubt released their last album, Push and Shove, in 2012, and the group went on a hiatus in 2013. They will reunite at the Global Citizen Festival in New York on September 27.
Gwen will also work alongside Pharrell as co-coaches for season 7 of The Voice, which returns September 22. In May, she gushed over her excitement to be a part of The Voice to the show’s host Carson Daly.
“What am I not excited about?" Gwen exclaimed. "Like two minutes ago I was giving birth and now I'm standing here in front of all these [people]. It's incredible!"
The hitmaker gave birth to her third son Apollo in February with husband Gavin Rossdale.
