Stephen Baldwin arrested

Stephen Baldwin was stopped by police in New York City earlier today

The younger brother of 30 Rock actor Alec Baldwin was stopped in upper Manhattan Friday morning. The actor reportedly had an expired Texas registration and suspended license.

"He was stopped in a 2013 gold Ford Explorer at West 156 Street and Broadway in the Sugar Hill neighbourhood around 6:45 a.m." reports Page Six.

The 47-year-old lives in Rockland County and was driving northbound on Broadway just before he was stopped by police.

The latest the arrest isn't the first time The Usual Suspects actor has had a run in with the authorities. In August 2012, Stephen was arrested in New York for another motoring offence, this time because he made an illegal U-turn. As part of normal procedure Stephen was asked by police officers for his identification. Authorities discovered that the star was driving on a suspended licence at that time.

Later that year, the Fred Claus star was arrested again for failing to file taxes. At the time TMZ reported that he had racked up a $350,000 tax bill but in March 2013 he managed to strike a deal with prosecutors and managed to avoid jail.

"Mr. Baldwin is very appreciative he will not be incarcerated,” his attorney Russell Yankwitt told TMZ afterwards. “He will pay back what he owes, and is looking forward to putting all of this behind him."

Stephen also filed for bankruptcy in 2009.
